ABOUT CAROLINA

Carolina Kane is a photographer and artist based in Cleveland, Ohio. Kane has experience in portrait, commercial, studio, event, documentary, and alternative process photography. Some of Kane's clients have included Cleveland Magazine, John Carroll University, and Lake County, Ohio. She has volunteered as a photographer for organizations such as Flashes of Hope and A Prom to Remember. Kane's work has been shown across Northeast Ohio and also in Ireland. Her background in the fine arts has truly influenced and impacted her style of photography. Kane is a 2019 graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography. Kane also teaches high school fine and digital art.
In regard to Kane's fine art work, her media includes film, alternative process, digital, and photo sculpture. Kane’s work explores the multiple layers of experience that influence human memory, perception, and identity. She frequently combines photographic techniques – traditional and contemporary, in order to examine how place is the intersection of culture, landscape, history, and nature, and has the power to influence individual identity. Kane’s work calls viewers to analyze their own process of perception and interpretation of place, and continuously evaluate and interpret what it means to have an individual, human temporal existence.
